Bio

Nikki has been a fantasy, science fiction, and mythology enthusiast since childhood. So, its no surprise her first novel is a myth based fantasy. Inspired by a vivid imagination and a love of reading, she began writing in the speculative fiction genres at an early age and soon developed a keen fascination for the commonalities between mythology and religion.

She studied creative writing and literature at City College of NY, receiving positive feedback from her peers and instructors. However, after much encouragement from family members and others to do something sensible, she put her literary aspirations on hold to earn a living.

During that time, the idea for a story began to take root. As it sprouted and grew, suddenly all the imaginings of her childhood came rushing back and she rediscovered her interest in mythology and began exploring the resemblance between certain myths and world cultures, especially African myths and religiosity. Several years of researching, writing and re-writing later, the result was Serpent of Eternity, a dark fantasy that uses mythological archetypes in a contemporary context to tell the story of a prudent young woman who is unaware that only she possesses the power to defeat an ancient enemy and save humanity.

A native New Yorker who grew up in Harlem, Nikki has lived in several Manhattan neighborhoods, but currently resides in Brooklyn with her husband Jason, and what she lovingly refers to as their "menagerie." She has one son, Christopher. Her interests include traveling, reading, music, movies and entertaining. But most of all, she loves to write.
